Giving up assets for a 6.4M back up goalie will not happen. Wings just need a reliable back up who doesn't cost too much.

Gibson is too much of a gamble. You're essentially praying that a 30 year old making 6.4 for 3 more years after this will return to his 2017/2018 self

30 isn't old especially for a goalie

Considering his career trajectory it's a gamble to trade for his contract entering his 30s

I think he's a good goalie and much better than Husso

Why not just re-sign Lyon who is even better than Gibson and keep the assets?

It's a risk we probably shouldn't take. We can't afford to keep paying mediocre talent we're gonna need the cap and soon.

I like it, Ithink with this offer you could get ANA to retain maybe Gibson from $6.4M down to $5.5. Lyon is the #1 right now and Gibson is better competition than Husso for the job.
