Published: Feb. 7, 2024

You realize the leafs need defence to add to the guys they have, swapping one for one 2nd pairing guys doesn't help them at all

Can’t see Jake taking less than 7 years at that salary.

Blues accept I imagine. At 3 million he isn't a bad option, but we would really need to start moving out some other D.

And they still have the same amount of defenceman and their depth is no better. Even worse than that they lose liljegrens transition game and they already have an issue moving the puck up when rielly isnt on the ice

Why dont we just move Vitek to SJ ourselves? We have a relationship with Grier and then just trade for Ned. I don't see our GM giving up assets like that. Ned for a 3rd has be bantered about by Pens fans for a bit now

how about this GP since Toronto fans dont want to play:

Chatfield and picks for Smith retained and a 2nd? Chatfield extension required.

Canes will flip the 2nd and other piece for Tanev. Our defense gets stingy.

You guys may well be right, but I would certainly hope not. It would be just one more big commitment to a Dman that is not a good fit. And sorry, but if a team that just signed the guy as a UFA is this desperate to ditch him it's a major red flag.

That SEA trade sums up this whole thing.

Why would the penguins take on a 5.5 million per 3rd liner.
You want to trade Rakell for a guy who's got 1 goal in like 20 games..... and pay him more?
Get out of here with this mess.
