Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just trying to come up with ways to get something back for Pesce and Skjei that will most likely never happen. Curious on the value for the trades. I imagine Leafs fans say no to giving up Minten lol.

I think Jarvis could be a great 2C if he worked on his faceoffs with Rod. I think Chatfield and Noesen have priced themselves out of Carolina unfortunately. I'm very curious to see if the front office actually makes a big trade for a proven scorer, I'm leaning towards the scenario they always go with, "we like our group". Hence why the forwards are almost completely the same.

Why is a bottom-10 MN team trading away a cheaper D-man with term for a rental? And adding a high 2nd on top of it?

Edit - i'm sorry, realized this is for UFA signing rights, so it's even worse.

Precedent for a sign-and-trade should start with what Severson got -- a 3rd round pick. Both teams would rather just sign them as free agents.

Because Brady Skjei is really good and it's also a sign and trade for an extended Brady Skjei

Comparing these two players to Damon Severson is funny

So the wild trade a good player with term for a player they can’t afford?

Well that's good for Brady Skjei, but MN has 15M in dead cap, isn't competitive, has a glut of LD prospects and a very usable, cheap player in Middleton. It's an easy pass.

Trading a good player for a much better player, yes. I didn't look into Minnesota's cap situation that's my bad.

Yeah, we have $11 million to spend next offseason with 16 players signed. Making it ~$7 million with only 16 players signed would be a killer.
