Description
Minor move that lets Arvi go to a team where he'd play and could have an impact in the future. Grunny might be the other option to move unfortunately to allow for more forward moves. Arvi coming back is a big deal, but will tighten the belt in a big way.

Isles accept.

Perfeclty fine with moving Lennox but I must say, hes lowkey good. Watching him play he looks like a project 4 or so years from being in the NHL but could be sneaky good

This is a no-risk move IMO for NYI, easy yes.

The Kings say no to this one. They might end up moving Kaliyev, but not for a throw away pick and an ECHL goaltender.

Moving Kaliyev is a foregone conclusion. The biggest long term need the Kings have is the prospect pool in goalie. Kaliyev might pull a 2nd, or a 2nd and a long term prospect tops. Lennox is going to be a monster in 3 years and a great option to push Portillo. He's not just some minor leaguer, kid could be a top goalie before well before he's out of arbitration.

There's a lot of speculation in there on this kid. If he were that good, he'd be further up the pipeline. This is the type of guy you trade a project AHL prospect for, not a quality player like Kaliyev that just needs a change of scenery. If a guy like Martin Chromiak can't seem to make that next step to become an NHL player in the Kings organization, then I'd consider swapping him for an ECHL goaltender. For Kaliyev, they need something with lower risk.

Right now, the Kings have a logjam in the AHL at goaltender, so there's nowhere for this kid to play. Portillo needs starts, and Ingham is down there being evaluated for a NHL contract next season. Juho Markkanen also needs a contract this summer and will need playing time in either the AHL or ECHL.

The Kings could potentially trade for a goaltender, but if they're moving Kaliyev, it's going to be for a guy that can play in the NHL right now (e.g. Charlie Lindgren), not a guy that might turn into a NHL goaltender in 3-4 years.

I'm lost (you have to remember my age) -- where did Arvi go?!?

Late edit: Oh, I see, on the left.

The kings need 2 tenders next season. With the cap situation odds are it's whomever is signed in the off season and Portillo backing them up. Ingram's going to be alone in Ontario and Juho will be a Swamp Rabbit IF he gets a contract. Kaliyev's trade capital is pretty low right now. I don't see them getting anything that will help now for him.

The Kings always go with a veteran option in the AHL to pair with the kid. They had Grosenick, Sparks, Copley, Rittich, and now Dell. Assuming Portillo starts in the NHL next season, Ingham and/or Markkanen will be in the AHL and paired with a veteran.

Kaliyev's value might be down a bit, but it's not that bad. He's worth roughly a 2nd round pick. The two assets you have here do not add up to a 2nd.

That's where we disagree. I think Lennox is worth a late second rounder or early third, and I don't think Juho is ready for the ECHL. He's way behind in development and could very well not get a contract at all.
