Should be an easy yes from SJ. Probably could get retention with that too.

Anaheim accepts and my two esteemed cohorts should be ashamed of themselves, stiffing you out of $662,500 in retention.

I'd rather win the cup than win all the trades. At some point, Canes need to push chips in and go for it even if it means overpaying a little.

This isn’t the year. We aren’t one piece away. Add in we have gone farther with nothing burger trade deadlines than with big deadline trades. There isn’t a correlation between deadline trades and success

If this isn’t the year then I’m not sure when it is. This is probably the strongest roster we’ll have for a while

Now is the time. Jarvis needs a big raise next season. We're losing both Skjei and Pesce after this season. Necas needs a big raise and more likely will be traded because of his inconsistencies. Turbo and Chatfield are UFAs too. Slavin and Burns aren't getting younger. NOW is precisely the time to go for it. Our late first round picks aren't as valuable as you think.

We are still short scoring, 2C, and a trusted goalie. Im not sure how you throw caution to the wind if you aren’t confident in your goal tender

It has nothing to do with the value of our 1sts. Using them on a rental who isn’t likely to move the needle on our cup chances, is a bad use of the pick.
