Well done. Nothing sexy, but realistic. Everything here is reasonable. I dont know if CHI would retain on Murphy for 2.5 yrs though after doing it with McCabe, the nect few years are different circumstances now tbat they have Bedard in tow.

Disagree. As a Caps fan I'd do it.

Hawks decline. What's likely a later 1st rounder isn't enough for Murphy half retained. The rest of that package is of no interest to the Hawks.

So Chicago was perfectly fine taking a late first for McCabe and lesser players but won't take the late first plus getting two better players then what they got in the McCabe deal?

Apples and Oranges. The Hawks were willing to deal McCabe last season because they had a boatload of prospects to backfill his spot. Hawks had Vlasic and Phillips playing well in the AHL. Korchinski was tearing up the WHL. Kaiser was ready to leave college and turn pro. Hawks had multiple replacement options. That is not the case w/ Murphy. Hawks have ONE RD prospect in the AHL (Crevier) who is not a top 4 player on his best day, and ONE prospect in college (Rinzell) who is at least two years away from being NHL ready. So trading Murphy leaves a hole that the Hawks then need to make another deal to fill. And while that collection of players in the proposed trade might be better than Anderson and Gogolev, it doesn't mean they are players the Hawks would value more.

I don’t think Liljegren is worth a 2nd and a 3rd

He's a young top 4 guy. I'd pay that.

If you keep Abruzzese and make the 5th round pick a 3rd, I would accept if I was Davidson or replace Abruzzese with Robertson.

I’d give you the 3rd because we need Robertson and his controlled cost

He is not top 4 which is why he’s being included in ACGM trades everyday
