For Buffalo to even think about this trade, they aren’t sending any draft picks to Minnesota.

Could he be a 1C? If you play him at C on the 1st line, he would fill that role. Is he going to score 80-90 points on a regular basis? Probably not; he's on pace to break the 60 point mark this season but 60-70 points may be his ceiling although he would likely get a bump playing with Kaprizov a bunch. But if you don't really need him to put up a ton of points, then it's no problem.

Drop Krebs and the picks from Buffalo and that trade is workable. Spacek is not an elite prospect, and still has years of development ahead, Hartman doesn't really help Buffalo that much as the only reason they move Mittelstadt is to make room for their many prospects.

I think Mitts could do well as a 1C, he’s a possession machine and excellent playmaker. A trade for a 1C doesn’t look like this, and this trade doesn’t get done.

Ryan Hartman just extended 3 years with the Wild, There's a zero chance of him waiving his NMC for Buffalo.

Eriksson Ek is just better. Could do a more offensive line and a more shutdown line in your top-6 I suppose

I would do something around Mittelstadt and Jokiharju for Middleton and one of their center prospects like Marat or Heidt, or maybe the winger Olhmgren, and maybe a second which for Minny will be top four.
For the record, I value Middleton as a first round pick, he’s a big top four defenseman with size and grit and has filled that role nicely since coming over from San Jose.

If the Sabres move Mitts, it’s likely going to be for immediate roster help, and they need a big physical defenseman on the back end, and Middleton has a year left on his deal as well before UFA and it makes sense there. I know he’s a lefty, but this team doesn’t care about right left and a lot of their D are versatile enough to play off hand. It’s the type of guy they need.

The valuation for Mitts is similar to Reinhart, a first and a prospect.

Krebs honestly has very little value at this point. He’s likely worth a second at best maybe a third and is a reclamation project. It would be a sell low to just throw im in here. Krebs I think is better served as a sweetener in another trade.

There is a Don Granato connection from the Blackhawks, but I doubt Hartman is waiving

Also, Minnesota is only 5 out of a wildcard, so it will be interesting to see what they do if they get close. Mittelstadt is a player they can afford this year. It may be a long shot that they’d do any buying, but they have a chance
