Playing devils advocate here, Sabres might not be "shopping" Mittelstadt but I guarantee they are listening to offers and will move him if they feel the deal is right. That being said, it's more likely that Mitt's resigns long-term since both he and the Sabres have said that's what they want and this isn't the "right" deal anyway.

Just tacking on to your post. Only articles I've seen are ones about why teams should call and see if they could grab Mittelstadt, haven't seen any actually stating Mittelstadt is being shopped.
