Description
Every player that I have traded and picks are the pieces I would be fine with NJ trading for 1 of these goalies. Let me know what you guys think. The trades won't be fair, I'm just putting all the players and picks I would be ok giving up.

Me personally, I'd trade Gritsyuk over Holtz atm. If Holtz get top 6 minutes I really do believe he could at least be a 30+ goal scorer where as Gritsyuk we're not 100% sure if he'll ever come over to the NHL.

Depending on the goalie trade situation, I am ok with NJ trading away Casey as well. To get a guy like Saros or if we could Swayman ( if lucky maybe in the summer but highly unlikely ) you have to give to get and teams will most likely start with Seamus Casey.

Out of Vanecek, Daws and Schmid, I think Daws will be the best and the 1 I think we should keep. Vanecek for obvious reasons and Schmid could still be something but Daws at worst I think will be a backup for sure.

As for Kevin Bahl, after watching Hatakka play the last couple of games, that kid has looked fantastic and slightly better than Bahl. Bahl is a great skater for someone his size but he doesn't use his body enough with that size.

Anyways let me know what you guys think. These atm are the 3 goalies I would like to see NJ take a shot at acquiring. Once again, these are not the actual trades that will happen, just all the pieces that could be up for trade that I'd be ok with.
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. 2024 1st round pick (NJD)
  2. 2025 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
2024 1st round pick is conditional because it's involved with the TImo Meier trade.
2.
3.
CGY
  1. Casey, Seamus [Reserve List]
  2. Gritsyuk, Arseni [Reserve List]
  3. Schmid, Akira
  4. Squires, Cam [Reserve List]
  5. Stillman, Chase
Additional Details:
Remeber, all the pieces going to the other 3 teams are pieces I would be ok trading to get a goalie.

If you had Saros, would you sell him for that price?

I think he is making lists….read it in columns. Left, goalies to trade for, right, trade chips to sell.

Daws is hot now, but I think Schmid is better option long-term. I wouldn’t want to be the guy to make that decision.

Casey is a kid with local connections, that they have invested a lot into. I don’t think he gets moved easily. He also played a lot on his off-hand at US NTDP, so his options aren’t limited to 3 RD spots.

Gritsyuk’s agent did say last summer that he plans to come over (even considered it for this season if Avangard matched the offer sheet). Dan McKinnon has said the same…so I think they are on same page. (But he is the best forward on The Russian Presidents favorite team…and some have said those guys may not be allowed to leave).

I would add Hämeenaho, Vilen

I'd be ok with Vilen. I didn't put Hämeenaho because I think NJ would try to hold onto him the most. Casey is our best prospect but with guys like Hamilton, L.Hughes and Nemec, I think we can slightly afford to get rid of him. Not easily though.

Kinda figured. It would definitely cost an arm and a leg to get Swayman.

Lenni would fit the worst with our system. Too slow. He’s the guy I’d be putting on the block first and foremost

Biggest problem for whoever trades a goalie to Jersey is that 2025 first is almost guaranteed to be in the low 20s, which isn't Jersey's fault but it makes that pick less enticing IMO

Our 2024 1st at the draft+a 1st from selling toffoli if we miss the playoffs could be exactly what NJD needs to get a hammer goalie.

I think Nashville would be hard pressed not to take that, or at least ask for some sort of prospect to complete the deal

True, but that's where you rely on your scouting department and say, " guys i got you another 1st round pick, draft us another good prospect." Or, you use NJ's 1st round pick for another trade.
