Why? Why not just take the gamble in the draft rather than trade away the picks and let other people take that risk?

Ya but Washington and Pittsburgh don't give up those players for those picks.

This draft is not as good as last years draft even though Celebrini is likely as good as any non Bedard player in that draft. Leonard might have gone 2nd in this draft if he was eligible

Serious question? Can’t tell if you are being serious or if you think that is real life logic.

Like why would the Habs trade Slafkovsky for Michkov or Fantilli they were drafted after him lol. It’s obvious imo

I dont know, I wouldnt say leonard is obviously better than Demidov or Lindstrom. I would say sharks priorities are Celebrini Lindstrom Levshunov and all of them have every skill to be as good as leonard

Leonard will be the next Matthew Tkachuk. Those players are worth a lot. Demidov will be great but impossible to know what his game will transition into for the NHL.

That’s crazy to say it’s better. Is def comparable but to flat out say it’s better is funny AF

Name the top 3 centers in this draft vs last year. Center arguably the most important position in hockey

Center is important if you don't have good centers, defense is important if you don't have good defense, goaltending is important if you don't have good goaltending

Bedard
Carlsson
Fantilli

Vs
Celebrini
Helenius
Boisvert

Wing
Michkov
Leonard
Benson

Vs
Demindov
Eiserman? Doubt he isn’t a top pick me regardless of scouts
Lindstrom

Defense
Reinbacher
Simashev (Reach pick)
Pellikka

Vs
You can name 7 high end defenders

Imo 2023 again was loaded with high end forwards. Comparable but insane to claim this year is better.

Also centers are the most important position in hockey. If Bedard Carlsson or Fantilli were available and Levshunov Dickinson and Buium are also available in the same draft and you need a defender but those guys are there you are picking talent over position no doubt in my mind
