Also next year Calgary only has 2 defenseman signed. Weegar and Andersson. I don't see Calgary trading weegar unless is was a massive overpay from the other team.

I think the "Conditional on Hanifin resigning" is Hanifin has to resign with CGY for this to happen... Which I don't want Hanifin to resign

Still odd because Hanifin and Andersson are both left defencemen and weegar is right defenseman. Either way it's I hole I don't see Calgary entertaining.

Andersson is RD Weegar can play LD or RD

Weegar is valuable long-term to the Canes because Pesce is likely to get the Brinks truck. Doing the trade now is to give Weegar an adjustment period in our system before he and Orlov take over top-4 spots after Skjei and Pesce get their UFA payments.
