Gee, Brodie isn't a bad contract especially for a third of a season. He plays top Dman minutes on a good team.

Filling a hole on the top pair doesn't make him a true top pair defenseman. Kind of like how just because Kerfoot used to sometimes fill the gaping hole in the top 6 in Toronto didn't make him a bonafide top 6 player.
