Don't see Montreal or Arizona making those trades.
Arizona has 13 picks in the upcoming draft (including 3 2nds and 3rds), 11 picks in 2025 (including 4 2nds) and 10 in 2026 (including 3 2nds). Montreal has 12 picks in this upcoming draft (including 2 1sts) and 11 picks in 2025 (including an extra pick in the first 4 rounds). Both also have deep prospect pools. Neither team cares much about adding mid round picks or AHL depth to move non-rentals that are performing important roles on their NHL roster.
I'm not sure the quantity move ever works for non-rentals, but both teams are at the point where they're only going to accept those kinds of returns on guys they're more open to trading.
