Nashville declines. We don't need goalies so that package has no value to us as a base for this trade. I'm sure there's some package of the prospects that you listed that would get you Saros, but not Novak on top without sending a top end forward talent back. You're also not getting any RD prospects out of Nashville so Prokop wouldn't be in this. I don't know why you'd target Gross over someone like Barrie, Fabbro, or Carrier who are actively in trade discussions.

And a pick would need to be included in that package for any of these players.

Gross is an UFA, but could be kept at a low avv, similar to what nj did with Lazar.
Siegenthaler is a top 10 defensive defenseman, with a stellar contract.
Vanecek is a cap match move.
And the devils need signed Rhd prospects in Ahl that need time to develop.
Novak is UFA as well. And a fourth line Center or wing that any team won't pay much for. Unless it is a trade and retain deal

GMs talking about tight caps, selling goalies publicly through media, saying they aren’t buying goalies, saying they are only looking at backups, calling our GM out by name on radio, saying they are happy with their goalies, complaining on air how hard it is to sell a goalie.
It simple supply vs demand: supply is going up and demand is going down!

That is one of the most wild sentences available to man. Flames don't need to move a goalie, Canucks trade is borderline psychopathic and I would assume just a throw in as a joke for Hughes, I bet Saros re-ups in Nashville, they are also close enough to the wildcard that any trade would probably come in the off season and the Ducks have no desperation to move off of Gibson. The team trading the goalie usually doesn't benefit from a deal as much as the team receiving the goalie so unless they're backed into a corner and need to make a move, no one is moving their starter for a middling return.

You already said that and then you said there’s ‘picks for retention’ so I’m trying to see what your offer is For John Gibson and Max Jones

Siegenthaler is what he is, but he doesn't add much value for Nashville because there's a log jam on the Left side of their defense preventing younger guys from getting in the lineup to prove they belong in the NHL. Adding Siegenthaler doesn't help the situation so he doesn't add a lot of value for Nashville.
Vanecek I understand as a cap move but adding Schmid is unnecessary and again doesn't add value because Nashville doesn't need goaltenders.
Novak has 28 points in 45 games this year. Which would be 6th on the devils ahead of offensive dynamos Dawson Mercer and Alexander Holtz. So don't call him a fourth liner that teams won't pay much for, his price probably starts with a 1st, but I'm guessing Nashville won't be trading him and will try to resign him.

This whole post just shows you don't watch hockey outside of New Jersey and overvalue your players, which is fine, but do a little research first on other teams.

Siegenthaler (3.4mil)
Vanecek (3.4 mil)
Scmhid (.9mil)
1 of 3 of these Casey/Gritsyuk/Clarke
1 of 3 of Edwards/Stillman/Misyul
And either 25/26 2nd rd pick
This is fair

Did the research still think Novak would be on the fourth line In nj. He ain't better the cpt, hughes, or Haula. Elevated stats based on better line mates, Is why this year his numbers look much better

I don't think trading holtz is necessary and love how he is developing.
Siegenthaler (3.4mil)
Vanecek (3.4 mil)
Scmhid (.9mil)
1 of 3 of these Casey/Gritsyuk/Clarke
1 of 3 of Edwards/Stillman/Misyul
And either 25/26 2nd rd pick if salary is retained gets it done.
Mercer is an iron man and untouchable.
Holtz looking like a young Toffoli who is starting to find his grove and should also be untouchable

I would rather keep Siegenthaler at his contract.
Wingers are easier to replace.
And by sending Holtz, we would send 1-2 pieces not 5.

Siegenthaler is expendable thanks to bahl's progression.
Give Bahl, Siegenthaler's contract in off-season

Oh I know that was trolling at my best, and a pipedream.
This would actually be my aggressive pkg:
Timo Meier
Siegenthaler (3.4mil)
Vanecek (3.4 mil) or Scmhid (.9mil)
2 of 3 Casey/Gritsyuk/Clarke
1 of 3 Stillman/Edwards/Misyul
And 2 1st rd picks

Bahl has not progressed enough to take that risk. He’s really struggled at times this year

Bahl has been terrible. The puck control, movement is a problem. He is the guy we need to upgrade more than any.

Meier is arguably a cap dump considering his contract/production at this point. If you want Quinn and Demko it starts with 2 of Hischier/Nemec/L Hughes
