So Edmonton downgrades on both ceci and foegele, while also giving up one of there best prospects and a 1st? Yeah that’s not happening

I'd want 50% retention on Carrier to further reduce the overage from Brown's contract next year but, on the whole, I quite like the concept. Not keen on involving Foegele in the trade, though.

Downgrade? Don't see it that way, there is some debate around Ceci & Carrier. I like Carrier's game, would like to see his game paired with Nurse but I also wonder what his resign tag will come in at.

But Sissons and Foegele are not, keep in mind Sissons is a positional need for EDM (RHC), additionally signed for a reasonable cap hit for 2 seasons after this one. Foegele is a redundancy with Holloway & Mcleod playing LW. Keep in mind the contract is part of the trade equation. Also EDM is in win now mode, the first and former firsts are on the table for certain. You may not like the price but these prices won't be too far off.

I think Nashville would have a hard time turning that offer down. They'd probably hope there's a market to resell Foegele or Ceci if possible but I think they say yes either way

I'd remove Foeg's and the 5th, NSH can half retain on Carrier at this price too.

Are you suggesting:

To EDM: Carrier (50% RS) & Sissons
To NSH: Ceci, Bourgault, 2024 1st

Money would work with EDMs cap accrual at the deadline.

Ceci and carrier are both 3rd pair D men, sissons and foegele are both best suited playing 3rd line minutes so sure you could argue based on team need sissons might be better for Edmonton but I don’t think it’s because he’s a better player. Regardless swapping ceci for carrier does nothing and suggesting it costs bourgault, foegele and a 1st for sissons is just ridiculous. You could convince me of foegele and bourgault for sissons but nothing more.

It is, I see Carrier as a decent upgrade to Ceci (others may disagree which is fine) and adding Sissons would be huge.
Potentially worth the price paid.
