Description
Firmly believe Dowd (with term) can get a first. He's an elite bottom-6 center. Rangers need help in bottom six and Lavi loves him. Threw in Edmundson + retention since I feel like Rags always get a depth d-man.

Mantha is having a great year and is a UFA. Just feels like the ultimate CAR guy - big and analytical darling. Retention plus having career year gets a late first (maybe I'm delusional).

NAK can add grit to Kings (i guess?). Can be to anyone.

Caps use additional firsts (and potentially next years' seconds) to acquire a top-6, pass first center in the offseason.

You really think you can get a 1st for a 4th liner and a bottom pair Dman? Rangers easily decline.

I don’t hate the adds for the rangers but I wouldn’t give a first for them they’re just not worth that.

He ranks in the 99th percentile despite being almost strictly deployed in the defensive zone and against teams' top lines. DO I think a first is an overpay? Yes but im almost certain a team that needs this kind of player will pay it. Rangers came to mind first. Rags are the least successful original 6 team....you are not above Nic Dowd lol

Wouldn't say he's mid - on pace for over 20 goals, great underlying numbers and at half retained I dont think its' crazy. Maybe not to the Canes but....

I don't care what a Jfresh or whatever chart says about Nic Dowd and his percentile. He's a career 4th liner. If the Rangers are looking to round out their bottom 6 theyre not gonna spend a 1st for it, theyd much rather use that pick for a top 6 RW. You think this is about being above Nic Dowd lol? Of course they're not above, he's good at his role there's no denying that, but he's still just a fourth liner who Drury would 100% not pay a 1st for.

Dowd plays 15-16 minutes a game.... Name a 4th liner that plays 25% of a game? ill wait

edit: Also find it LMFAO funny that you have a massive issue with "life long 4th liners" Goodrow was moved for a 1st and won 2 cups then your teams signed him for 3.6m

Lol the Rangers don't care if he can play lots of minutes, they roll their top 9 more than any other team and their 4th line as it is now is already good. Also it's funny that you think Goodrow is a good example of spending a ton to acquire a career 4th liner when he's now actively hurting the Rangers with his terrible contract. There is zero reason to ever overpay for depth, they can almost always be replaced by a cheaper option.

Dowd would be a nice pick up but not for a 1st round pick. No need for Edmonson, they have depth if needed already.

Love how you missed the point. Goodrow was on a good contract + helped Tampa win 2 cups. GREAT EXAMPLE.
HOW DUMB TEAMS RUIN THEIR CAP... signing depth players to huge deal after they are useful. Dowd is an example of the 1st situation not the 2nd lol.
"the Rangers don't care if he can play lots of minute" ... aka idc if im wrong and call a guy a 4th liner bc im ignorant to his role in the Capitals system. Wilson also spent time on the 4th line..... lol

Los Angeles has plenty of spare forwards on the roster and in the pipeline; absolutely no interest in Aube-Kubel even at below-League-minimum.

lol Goodrow got carried by Gourde and Coleman on that third line, he was never good and could have been easily replaced by some other center there.

I love it when people who don't know what they're talking about say this about a player only to not realize how poorly he's played when he got off that team, it's not like some switch magically flipped lol, Goodrow has always been a mid player who has to get carried to look good.
