Would Buffalo do this

Description
Is the value (not that Buffalo needs this player) fair?

I read a post yesterday saying that Montreal would have to offer their 1st round pick in 2024 plus a top prospect to make a trade for Lundell. I thought was way too much for Lundell, so I thought I would make a similar trade between Buffalo and Florida and see what people say (considering Buffalo is in the same area of the draft as Montreal is this year).

What do people think?

Lundell would be blocked by Tage, Cozens, and mitts (if they resign him).

Ostlund seems like a throw in here, his value is closer to the top 10 pick that the Sabres would be giving up. So for me, the value is way off, and the fit isn't really there either. Maybe for a high end right shot d that plays physical, but not for a center.

I agree there. The post was more about discussing the value of the trade rather than than the fit on the Sabres roster. I think Buffalo has so many good young forwards that they should not be trading (or drafting) for more.

Problem is that “the value” is greatly affected by us not needing a forward/Center
For example, if we didn’t have Cozens or Mitts, then the value is better
But bc we are deep at forward, it just doesn’t work for us

It might make sense for MTL,
but i think u guys would at least have to send them your 1st as well
And they’d obviously have to be VERY high on Lundell
Bc he hasn’t shown enough at the NHL level to get a top10 pick

Are you saying that Montreal should give up their own 2024 first round pick for Lundell or no (I am not certain because you said Montreal would have to send them their first as well and then you later said Lundell has not shown enough at the NHL level to get a top 10 pick).
Thanks

I didn’t realize u were a MTL fan,
so my wording may have been confusing
I thought u were a FLA fan

I don’t think Lundell has shown enough to get a top10 pick back in return
IF the Habs were somehow willing to do it,
I think FLA would have to add in their 1st (at least)
It would still seem unlikely imo though

I definitely don’t think the Sabres would do anything like this though- we are already deep at forward, so no interest
