In my opinion, Rickard Rakell is not the solution for the Canucks.

              Rather just keep Saad.

The Vancouver trades definitely don’t unless you’re sending draft picks or extra value as well for taking on the extra money or term compared to Mikheyev or Garland.

The NSH deal is my favourite as I like Barrie and Glass, but it doesn't fill the teams needs. Barrie would be useless when we already have Karlsson and Letang as OFD.

Don’t think the Canucks would want Rakell, but they may consider something involving Mikheyev for Smith

Sadly, I don't think any of them make sense.

But if Guentzel does get moved, I would be ok with keeping Rakell on Crosby's line.

Barrie is in this deal purely for cap. I would not re-sign him. It is more to give the Predators a top 6 forward for a relatively cheap cost, while we clear cap and get a young forward who could use a fresh start. POJ is added to equal out contracts.

I don't see the Preds targeting Rakell because his contract will not age well and PO is a nice piece, but we don't have a huge need for LD. Nashville isn't the right partner for this trade I think

Doesn't make sense for Vancouver. Garland has been amazing this year once he found his spot on the 3rd line with Blueger and Joshua, so they won't move him this season. The only way they'd move either of those guys if it's in the offseason and they want to clear cap space to either re-sign Lindholm or make another big add, in which case bringing in Rakell defeats the entire purpose of moving said player.
