You can afford to keep Dvorak, we don't want him in the trade.

Fair value for Z. Still hope the Ducks would prefer to keep him though

Pick one top 6 forward to pursue. We need to put that forward with Dach and determine who works best with that combination from what we have, and then go out and get a player that fits if we don't have one.
If you add 3 guys at once you're taking a lot of risk of at least one not working out and preventing our own prospects from developing.

If you can get say, Reinhart and Hanifin, instead of 3 forwards, that would give us more of a playoff push.
We should be more patient, but it doesn't matter who is up front if our defense is going to keep getting younger. Until our D corps has gained more experience overall, we need to take the same slow approach for the forward group.

Don't make such a splashy free agent signings and your cap situation is fine, you probably want to keep it available anyway for bonus overages.

Doesn't matter, we wouldn't be looking for a rental.
Probably cost a lot and we'd be targeting 27+year old RHD.

Should have moved Allen much earlier. Held him too long and tanked his value, plus lost development time for Primeau. frown

My point was we need more than forwards. If we are rushing to improve, we will need defense as well.
I like our D corps, but they aren't ready yet. Give everyone more time to bake before throwing money and assets into big acquisitions.
I'm okay with 1 big forward add because it will help our other forwards establish themselves, but more is likely to derail or at least delay development.

Avs decline. Even with 50% retention on Allen they likely still decline.
