Nope. Rangers are keeping Lafreniere and I'm okay with that.
(We can trade those assets, just not here.)

Habs easily decline Matheson is worth way more than Laf, if this was an actual deal it would be Laf + 2nd + cap offset for Matheson, Habs wouldn't be adding anything.

Cup contending teams don't typically think about the future, it's why teams like Tampa and Toronto give away picks, prospects and young players like they are candy. Their goal is to win the cup now not in 5+ years, NYR are in that same position now, hence the reason I said Matheson has more value than Laf and that the Rags would be adding not the Habs. Now fit wise, I am not convinced the Rags need to make this sort of trade anyway.

Seriously, you think a forward on pace for 50 ish points has more value than a 2-way D man on pace for 60 ish points? This is like saying Fox doesn't have more value than Slafkovsky. Would you trade Fox + Othmann + NYR 2025 1st for Slaf? I wouldn't, cause ist just as ridiculous as trading Matheson + Beck + 1st for Lafreniere

Get over it were not trading Laf and that wouldn't be the return any gm would want for him, period.

Try to understand what I was saying, if you want I can type it out letter for letter.

1. I was not saying NYR should be trading for Matheson.
2. I did not say Montreal would/should want to trade for Lafreniere.
3. I wasn't saying NYR should/would want to trade for Slafkovsky.
4. I did not say Montreal would/should be trading for Fox.

Is that clear enough or should I spell it out for you.

5. I was saying Matheson > Lafreniere right now especially to a team in win now mode like the Rags. Same as Fox has more value to a team like the Rags than Slafkovsky. Those comparisons are fairly accurate since Matheson and Fox are both D men on pace for 60 ish points and Laf and Slaf are young 1st OVA picks on pace for 50 ish points, it's not like I am comparing Matheson to Makar or Laf to Armia, the comps are pretty even.

to be crystal clear and just to help reiterate this, I DO NOT THINK MATHESON IS SOMEONE THE RAGS WOULD/SHOULD BE TRADING FOR. MY COMMENT WAS STRICTLY RELATED TO THE PLAYERS VALUES

Did you get that, do you understand?

LMAO, I am calm, you are the one whose panties are in a bind thinking Laf is the next Gretzky. Not one NHL GM would give up a 60+ point D man for a 50 point forward, no matter how you spin it. Laf is simply not better than Matheson right now just as Slaf isn't better than Fox right now. If the price for Matheson was set at Laf + 2nd + cap offset then the Rags would gladly pay it if they felt like Matheson was the missing piece, the issue as I have said multiple times is that I am not convinced the Rags would be looking at a Matheson type of player with Fox already there. Now I know you are gonna **** and moan and make up crap cause you don't like the truth of the matter, so before you do just stop its getting old, we all know you don't think any Habs player can compare to any Rags player (even if as in this case they are all almost identical). Would you expect Slaf to return Fox + cap Othmann + 1st? Or would you expect Fox to return Slaf + Armia + 2nd? Who do you think holds more value Fox or Slafkovsky? Answer that honestly and you will have your answer as to who out of Matheson and Lafreniere holds more value.

LMAO, when did Lidgren score 60+ points? See I knew you wouldn't cause the value is not enough there are 3 points separating Fox from Matheson and 6 points separating Lafreniere from Slafkovsky but there are 32 points separating Matheson from Lindgren, so on what planet is that even a comparison?!
