A late first would probably not be any more helpful in the next 2-3 years than Kakko is now, assuming they even develop well. Rangers pass.

i don’t think he’s a bust? He’s still a third line winger who could grow a bit more. He hasn’t developed at the pace you would hope maybe, still an NHL player for sure

Did Vegas put Stone on LTIR officially? because unless that happens this couldn't even be a possibility

Like 90% of the fans on this site think he’s a bust, so you can see why I’d say that

Yeah I saw Eichel but, didn't see Stone but, even with them on there now, one of them would have to stay for the rest of the year for this to work

Oilers would be very grateful for this trade

Only one fan at a time can make an ACGM, this fan doesn't seem to think he's a bust

Past history? You mean faking an injury to have a player on LTIR? Urban legend. Stone's injury is pretty serious, he's done for the season and probably all playoffs if they make it far

Maybe but, I hope the NHL will make sure if it does happen it's for legit reasons.
Even then they can't afford to keep Chychrun and bring back Marchessault and Stephenson so a trade for rentals makes more sense IMO

Depends on your definition of “bust”

Mine is couldn’t cut it in the NHL and plays overseas or elsewhere

Kakko is definitely not playing to his draft status but definitely an NHLer at age 22

also stones listed as week-to-week. I’m not a doc nor do i work for vegas so i can’t tell you how long he’s actually going to be out. But it’s within the range of outcomes that he could be back in 2 months before playoffs.

& I never said his injuries are fake, but it is both beneficial to him and the team to hold him out until playoffs.

that don't get chych yet alone adding senko retained, Kappo not worth a 1st, he is a bust.

The term "bust" is often used to describe highly-touted draft picks or free agent signings who fail to deliver on their potential or the expectations of the team and its fans

I'd really like Kaapo on the 3rd, but you guys need to stop low balling Pinto lol. The dude is signing for like 4M$ MINIMUM.

i think it’ll be tough for him to get 4m after being suspended for half the season

That has nothing to do with his next contract lol. He's on pace for like 60 points if he played the whole season. 60 point 23 year old center is going to get much more than 2.8M$.

On a 2 years bridge? I don't think so

Hard to say if they'll go 2 years or 6-8 years right away. If they go long term, I expect it's going to be around 5.0-5.5

If you want to see the recent comparables, here you go :

I don't see Kakko as a bust, maybe a disappointment (so far)

A bust is a guy that barely even played.

Yeah but you're giving up a young cost controlled RHD, Kulak is already in his 30's and is a LHD

Brannstrom disappeared for nothing and is just as good if not better so yeah, you're losing that trade

Well I have read "lacerated spleen" and from what I have seen, that injury takes 2-3 months to heal. Last Vegas RS game is on April 18th

It depends on many things of course but he'd probably miss at least round 1

There's nothing beneficial about this, it's just a timing thing. Call it luck if you want like for the Kucherov injury... people are so up in arms for nothing in general that they didn't even understand that he had a real hip surgery and that he actually came back faster than expected. It's easier to just believe in conspiracy theories everywhere
