Would NJ move Dougie Hamilton?

Imagine stashing that guy on LTIR until the playoffs. Would be a big cap to try and fit next year...and I can't really see them moving him...but that would be a sly move to try and nab him

Leafs have 30 mill in cap space next year... If the plan is to go all in this one, it could be a smart and ironic move which I'm all for

Isn’t that what tre was hoping for with Klingberg?

But yea, he’s an offensive-minded d-man for sure.

Actually looking at Hamilton's chart his defense is better than I thought

Also yea Klings had some good 2-way seasons but they were a while ago in DAL

But yea its tricky

To me someone to eye with an * is Chycrun

Also just be and this may risky....BUT

PHI is looking for a goalie

Last year ARI got a 4th that became a 3rd for Wedgewood

Not saying has to be a pick but could a deal be there. Yes there is risk but TOR could then go take one of the lower picks and trade for a goalie who has passed through waivers and played NHL games (AKA Hellberg)

So they trade Jones to PHI for a pick or player then trade a lower pick for Hellberg to be insurance. Gives them cap as hes in the AHL and they still got 3 goalies for playoffs

As spending a 5th for a goalie then getting a 3rd for another be nice

It is...

When did I mention McCabe as the shutdown pair? I just said he's solid defensively and so was Benoit

And Libby's underrated in terms of his defensive play, which we saw vs NYR

He's okay defensively. I wouldn't say solid. When he's not going head hunting, he's good but when he goes out of his way to crush guys, he only hurts himself and it happens too much. Benoit is good defensively sure, can't do much of anything with the puck though. But still I have been happy with him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Justin Holl 50% retained for future considerations (or maybe like a 6th rounder or something) makes a lot of sense for us right now

Even better why not Holl (some ret) + Berggren for FC or some low **** pick

To take that bad deal give us an incentive aka a nice prospect whose NHL ready but Yzerman decided to sign a bunch of guys leaving him 0 room

But in all seriousness after Holl's last playoffs im still so hesitant. On for 73% of TBL's playoff goals and when HS results were better

To me is u can get WSH to ret 50% on Jensen and only pay a 3rd **** yea. Age is the one gripe but its basically McCabe 2.0

According to reports nick Robertson is no longer happy in Toronto. No trade request has been formally made as of now but reports make it seem like he may be moved before Friday.

Fear it, dread it, run from it.
The Norris arrives for Holl all the same

Can't imagine why getting jerked around for years might annoy someone

Oh yeah I know, but I mean the injuries aren't the fault of the organization, just bad luck.

Weird cause from what was reported this morning by Friedman, he understood why he was sent down (waiver exempt) and was fine with Leafs telling him it was only a short term thing

"They have also looked at a depth forward/centre. When Nick Robertson was sent down, he was told it was purely for roster reasons and he’d be back, a rationale he accepted in the short term."

Which honestly u could argue for as Reaves will not be a full time guy and u can have a nice 4th line of Holmberg-Kampf-Jarnkrok

Yeah I have no idea the validity of the reports, I just seen this and thought I'd share in case something was on the way

Yea makes sense but the one who discussed

They have also looked at a depth forward/centre. When Nick Robertson was sent down, he was told it was purely for roster reasons and he’d be back, a rationale he accepted in the short term.

Was Friedman so thats why I tend to lean on that side. As why would he report hes fine with it when other be going nope lul. Would be a bit odd

But yea I could see Gregor waived and Robertson back soon as after TDL (if he aint moved)

I know Willy has been good but sorry he should not be a full time PKer hes just not made for it. When they can set him up on a breakaway thats where he thrives but compared to Matthews, Holmberg, etc he should not be the 2nd unit PK full time

This be why I say they need to go get another bottom 6 guy who can kill penalties

This be on Keefe rn with decisions like these putting Willy out there ugh
