This game perfectly highlights what this roster needs. Our forward group is set and the young guns are ready. The 20m we have this offseason better go almost exclusively to the blueline.

I know a lot of people rightfully want Benoit back next season, but if he is going to cost more than 1.5m, Id just move on. Marshall Rifai is a prime candidate to replace him, he's only making league min and has the same kind of defensive acumen as Benoit. He is an incredible skater and a huge pest. That's a guy who deserves a shot in the NHL

He needs to work with someone power forwards who excel at it

Talk with Hyman or another fellow NHLer whose figured it out and work with them. Work with the training staff to and bulk up

Benoit is 25 years old. Considering the cost it would take to get someone who has played the way TOR has asked of him and even went above his roles and did well I would argue you need to keep him

He asks for 2m you go okay but I want x amount of term. He dont put up a tonne of points so I dont see him higher than 1.5m anyways rn

Rafai's sample is a bit to small. Would rather not just keep on gambling especially in the event of injuries

Stability is important. As lets say we let him go and he thrives on another team and Rafai struggles, its the Lafferty/Gregor situation all over
