Description

At least Dowd could stay here longterm. Mantha is more uncertain. But a 1 year deal for cheap and playing with McDavid could perhaps change his mind? Lindgren is the perfect 1B to Skinner and solves the goalie situation. Very cheap deal for another year aswell. Could stay longterm aswell. Abué-Kubel’s future here is also more uncertain.

Btw, Savoie is added as the sweetener from the Oilers!

Additional Details:

Campbell is promised some NHL games and will then get bought out in the summer. Caps can easily afford to pay him for 6 years. They only really gotta fix a good playmaker to play with Ovi then they have themselves a looming and long rebuild ahead of themselves. Oilers will retain 1m(20%) on Campbell aswell. At his most expensive point Campbell will cost the Oilers 0.52m in buyout costs. Campbell will cost 0.22m for the Oilers next season and 0.3m from 2027 to 2030 for the Oilers which is very feasible for them. The highest cost for Capitals will be 2.08m at one season.

Agree with the other caps fans - definitely accept this. Campbell and Kuemper is an expensive tandem, but for the assets coming back, they have to accept this.
