I wouldn't trade mercer for chychrun straight up let alone with 2 1st's n marino hahaha. There's a reason chychrun has been in trade talks for 3 yrs now

Just highlighting the ridiculousness of Tkachuk for holtz and 2 picks... And a Tkachuk trad win general

That would be more than enough for Brady. He’s not his brother

Meier comp. identical production, physicality, contractual cost, and Meier is better defensively.

And yet, Tkachuk holds significant more value than Meier. I like Meier but Tkachuk has more impact on a game to game basis

I don't think he is worth more. Holtz+1st is probably as high as I would go.

Any factual basis to that claim or just pure bias?

You're joking right? A little ironic saying I have bias...

Meier: 24 pts in 45 games, -24 on a team with a -11 differential. 121 shots, 64 hits, 16:39 ice time

Tkachuk 50 points in 54 games, -4 on a team with a -12 differential, 249 shots, 188 hits 18:41 ice time. Takes faceoffs at 55%

Lol Like wow, I can't believe how close they are. My bias is just oozing from me I guess.
To put it in perspective, he's on pace to have a worse season than Huberdeau last year... And that's saying something

I was talking about Sharks Meier. That is the player who was traded and so is a comparable for a trade

Meier at the time of trade:
134 games in last 2 years, 66 goals, 128 points, better defensive analytics than Tkachuk
Tkachuk
138 games 61 goals, 133 points in last 2 years

I thought u were talking about Meier since he's been on our team. I still believe in him. I would still take tkachuck over sharks Meier just bc he's more physical n stands up for his teammates

No I was talking about sharks Meier bc that was the guy who was traded and so that’s the basis of a comp. if Tkachuk hits the market he’ll go for a lot less than a lot of sens fans think.

He isn’t matthew, he isn’t Eichel. He’s a star, not a superstar

I agree. Everyone always over values their players on here. I'll admit I'm even guilty of it when I see some of the trades

The meier trade is as good of a comp for brady as you'll EVER find.

2 physical, "grit", "intangibles" wingers with virtually identical production in the 2 years prior to being traded, with similar contractual costs (Meier 3 mill+8.8x4=38.2 mill over 5 years, Brady 8.2x5=41 mill over 5 years)

One big difference is leadership. Meier does not seem like a leader or outspoken in the locker room

Meier is a complimentary player. He was thought to be a driver. I thought Devils overpaid BUT, it was a good overpay because he should compliment Hughes, hasn't happened. Mukhamadullin was so underrated as a prospect. But hey revisionist history. I am still a big fan, though.

Even last year Tkachuk would have more value. He impacts the game more at a younger age. More physical, leader and intangibles. If you don't like it and call it bias, fine. But it's true
