Sabres say hell no to the 1st trade. Lars Eller doesn’t get 10 years off his body before we get him.

The CGY one isn’t going to work for anyone seeing as half of CGY’s fans seem to think Rasmus Andersson is God while the more reasonable ones understand he’s probably not getting traded anyway and I highly doubt the Sabres will offer anything close to a reasonable price

U don’t think it’s possible that after losing Tanev & Hanifin & maybe even trading Markstrom that next year sucks for u guys??
I’m guessing if that happens, Flames decide to rebuild and trade Andersson too

Maybe I’m off base here though ??

Nah, off base, we have a Hot Goalie Prospect in Wolf like you guys have in Levi and we’ll find replacements for Hanifin & Tanev. There’s always the next Hanifin & Tanev. Besides that, our Backup Goalie Vladar is underrated too. Maybe he excels with more game time too

I’m gonna get this outta the way quick- Vladar sucks
And I’m not even gonna debate that. If he proves me wrong at some point, then good for him. But he’s as mediocre as it gets

And i know all about Wolf, he’s super talented.
And i think your Levi comp makes sense. Problem with young goalies though is that u just never know. I was telling my fellow Sabres fans that it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it takes Levi a season or 2 before he locks down the starter job here- & it frankly might never happen.
I think it’s the same with Wolf. I wish him the best, but u just never know.

And i think you’re MASSIVELY underrating losing 2 of your top4 defensemen. Of course you’ll bring in other guys, but that doesn’t mean they’ll mesh well with each other, OR with Weegar & Andersson.
Maybe I’m being overly negative bc I’ve see so hard it’s been for the Sabres….
but trying to rebuild your top4 WHILE breaking on a young goalie is MUCH more likely to come with a bunch of headaches than it will work out smoothly.

Best of luck
But we’ll just see how that goes for u guys
Hopefully it goes better for u guys than it has my Sabres

Statistically Vladar deserves your hate, but I still have confidence in him 🥅

Losing Hanifin & Tanev is crushing, but everything is inevitable in the business of hockey. We have good pieces and will Trade For or Sign replacements + we have some decent players internally that could step up as well

I expected the Sabres and Devils to be much better this season, but you never know what’s gone work or mesh or how your defence and goaltending will be. That’s hockey

Your last paragraph i totally agree with
And that’s why i think next year could be a lot tougher for u guys than you’re thinking

Again, best of luck
But i think it could be a frustrating season for u guys

You are describing Luukkonen until January of this year.
While I do not get to watch Vladar, Ukko-Pekka defense was terrible.
Could not clear rebounds or the front of the net and had many deflections (as one of the goals did last night) tipped in while he had anticipated the obvious pass.
I could see it but other Sabre fans could not.
But I agree with @AntiAnalytics this may be the time for the Flames to retool if not rebuild.
Trading all three D-men could result in quite a haul.
On the other hand the Flames are only 5 points out of a playoffs spot with a game in hand on Nashville.
Maybe they will be desperate buyers at the TDL and the Flames could have 5 first round picks this year.

Yeah it could be, then again maybe not. We could sign a Cheap Veteran Goalie and run 3 Goalies. Maybe Kylington produced as much as the departed Hanifin. There’ll be plenty of Defensemen available via Free Agency and/or we could try to make a Trade for one, like Ryan Graves if PIT isn’t happy with him

Hard enough to find players wanting to be in Calgary, so moving Weegar doesn’t make sense and neither does Andersson at this point given he’s got an 8+ year career ahead of him yet and likely becomes the next Team Captain

I don’t want to be like BUF or OTT with a ton of quality prospects but no True 1RD and desperately looking for one all the time

If spread those picks out between 24 & 25, but acquiring Young NHL Players or already Drafted Top Prospects will likely be the priority over Picks for their “Re-Tool”

I don’t think you’ll move Andersson (or Weegar) this year- or even this offseason- BUT if next year goes bad,
THEN it could make sense to start shipping out the rest of your Vets & “rebuild”

U misunderstood what i was saying
I don’t think CGY will trade Andersson until AFTER NEXT YEAR,
or maybe at next year’s trade deadline (at the earliest)
