Edmondson is more of a bonus, Nic Dowd is the real prize in that trade you get him at 1.3 million this year and next, plus you get out of RyJo and open up the Henrique trade. The extra defenseman is insurance and I believe an upgrade over JJ for a playoff run. This was my thinking behind it.

Also in any of these trade you could add a Sean Behrens, almost added him to the Ducks trade and probably should have since they retain 50%, also could send him to a ,3rd team to retain on AH was also a thought but I couldn't do that on here...

Caps pass. No reason for them to do this trade and take on Johansen's anchor of a contract. Need another piece. 4M is not nothing.

3 makes #1 possible, without moving on from RyJo you can't get Henrique that is why your paying more to Washington logically.... Also not sure people understand how much Nic Dowd would help the 4th line and he has another year at 1.3M... He is similar to a Ross Colton but better at faceoffs.....

I like the move to add Ned, Next 2 firsts and Olausson seems like a lot for a playoff run that they might not even have Landeskog for. What about a guy like Bjugstad as 4C (might cost less) and try to move Johansen in the off season for less? I think they could make that work and still be just barely under the cap.
