Canucks don't need LHD. We have 4 quality NHLers and few tweeners in the AHL/LTIR. We need Top 4 RHD. Also Matheson and Pettersson have issued and not worth bringing over.

There are some prospects that teams are just not willing to move, I’m assuming Lekkerimaki is one of those guys for Vancouver.

Who in that top 4 would place over MAtheson, honestly ? no one except Hughes. you simply don't like MAtheson

Except to help with size coaches/team prefer the size/reach/toughness that Zadorov and Soucy provide and the vet leadership Cole has provided. I'll fully admit I don't like slew foot Matheson that was from his Florida days taking out a rookie Pettersson who has held this beef to even this year. So bringing him over at the cost of upsetting our soon to be RFA Superstar. Not to mention losing our best forward prospect it isn't something Van would consider.

sure, but as a GM, you look out for everything before making a trade. Not sure it is a good move from a GM to bring a player that your superstar may hate

Canucks decline. Matheson isn’t a fit for Vancouver. He’s an offensively-minded defenceman man who generates most of his value from the PP. Canucks already have two guys who fill that role and are much better players in Hughes and Hronek. Matheson wouldn’t get PP time in Vancouver, which would significantly limit the value he can provide. Then there’s also the issues between him and Pettersson, and I highly doubt you’d want to bring in a guy your superstar RFA hates. On top of that, Lekkerimaki is untouchable and won’t be traded under pretty much any circumstances. Deal just doesn’t make sense from Vancouver’s perspective in an way.
