he had 40 points last year, i highly doubt he's just suddenly bad. his linemates have been awful this year (Holmstrom/Wahlstrom/Fasching/Gauthier) . Really dont think hes regressed as much as I thought, looked fine on 2C the other day playing with an ounce of talent

JGP is not a 4th line centre on a lot of teams, sure. but the Sens have 3 centres who will play above him, plain and simple. without retention, I doubt Pageau holds much trade value at all, compared to Tarasenko who is worth, at minimum, a 2nd+

We have Stutzle, Pinto and Greig locked in at C, Pageau would likely be our 4C unless he was a 3RW. Either way, overpaid by $2M and only gets you an asset if you retain that $2M. Otherwise he is negative value. Wahlstrom is barely a roster player, 6 years after being drafted like 12th overall. He doesn't add much value at all.

Add your 1st round pick and this deal might make sense.
