i imagine the blues will want more, especially trading with a division rival while chasing a WC spot
on the other hand though, avs decline

And you will definitely need to pay more for moving a 8mil dollar contract. His value is closer to 4.5mil.

Ryjo is only 4 million. Nashville retained 50% of his salary when he got traded. So Montreal would only eat 4 million for next season

Yeah, I honestly don’t think he has as much negative value as some people think honestly. He’s on pace for 31 points and 17 goals in 13:50 a night. He’d be good for a team like the penguins he’s just not quite the skater we need

Interesting idea but if Landy retires then I would expect the Avs would be signing Drouin. Also think that's optimistic on Stephenson. I think the Blues may ask for more and I think the Avs would balk at even paying this price.

Avs need to be getting a lot more value if they're trading Byram. That means someone of similar age, contract status and on-ice potential. It does them no good to trade for a guy that will be a UFA year after next and will want an even bigger contract than he is currently on plus a 3rd pair D while also giving up a 1st. The guy I would target if I'm the Avs and I'm okay with trading Byram is Necas. Yes, he's a little older but only by a few years and is still right in the middle of his prime, he's a proven commodity, and plays a position of need for the Avs. He is nearing the end of RFA so he does need to get paid but they're going to be trading Manson this offseason anyhow so, if Landy isn't coming back, Byram for Necas makes sense to me.

If there trading manson this offseason since your psychic, then they are better off keeping byram and paying him instead of trading him. Cause say you trade byram for necas and then trade manson in offseason. Then your left with

Toews makar
Girard malinski

Whos gonna round the 3rd pair and 7th dmen
