I'm sure the team would love to extend him, but I think his contract ask is going to be too rich, especially if VAN rightly prioritizes extending Hronek.

Fair. I'm having a hard time gauging Zegras' value at this point, but I'm sure ANA will get something good for him if they move him. The way I looked at this deal was basically;

1st + Raty for Zegras
2nd to take Mikheyev

add another 1st and you might have the zegras value, although i genuinely don't know

and i get the feeling ANA wouldn't want late 1sts for zegras or non-elite prospects

Yeah no — we have no reason to trade him

Try like Lekkermaki

Yessir— top pick of top prospect has the be the major piece in a trade

You’re honestly not in the ballpark. Z is a year and a half older than Raty and was putting up his first of two back-to-back 60pt seasons playing center in the NHL at his age. Raty isn’t matching that in the AHL at wing. He’s not good enough to be the principal piece in a Z trade, nor is a late 1st

A Z trade would start with Lek and then add a bit more. And ANA isn’t touching Mik. Not interested? All good. He isn’t on the block and we love him here

For the right player I could see Allvin moving Lek. Not sure how they feel about Zegras though.

I can't see Vancouver being in on Zegras. Don't think tocchet would be a fan of his at all.

No Hronek, no Lekkerimaki, no 2024 first, no motivation to trade Zegras.

Might as well add my take also. To dump Mikheyev's 2x4.75M (9.5M total) is at least a 1st. The only thing that might bring that cost down is if for some reason the acquiring team actually wanted him as a player. That's kind of doubtful.

Raty isn't any where close to good enough to be a main piece in a Zegras trade. The 1st is in 2025 and is too late in the round (20+) so it's also not good enough to be a main piece. One of these two things needs to be significantly better. Like Lekkerimaki. Or some how get a 2024 1st that is in the 7-10 range.
