If Washington trades Kuzy, retention is needed, but would he waive for Winnipeg, and would this be another Setoguchi case? What's up with Kuznetsov? Is he worth the hassle?

Good point, but sadly Winnipeg is often picked as the worst road game destination and is often noted as a city where players chose not to waive for. If there is mutual interest, it's hard to imagine he'd pick Winnipeg over spots like Boston and Colorado. If neither team wants him, sure, but if they do, we'd lose out.

It's more likely that they are trying to terminate his contract. No matter how you look at it, the risk isn't worth it.

Hopefully Kuznetsov would pick Hershey. There's no imaginable upside that Kuznetsov has that outweighs his massive downside.

He definitely isn't something that you want to introduce into a locker room that finally looks tight again after years of having a fractured locker room.

I agree as Kuznetsov's agent said they were looking for a fresh start. If waivers don't result in him being picked up then if he's willing to take the financial hit a mutual termination may be in the cards now or more likely in the offseason.
