I would say that if the pens were in on Zegras and had a deal in place they’d have to use assets in a Jake Guentzel trade.

Meh. I’m not as high on Zegras as many seem to be. Seems to me like a fun, skilled winger with little substance when it’s time to play big boy hockey. He’s definitely skilled, and if anything would improve the things that I critique him for it would be playing alongside Sidney Crosby, but I doubt that I’d be willing to pay what ANA would want for him, considering the current state of PIT. For the right price, I’d welcome him in black and gold, but I think ANA overvalues him. Just my two cents.

The Canadiens fans have posted the most ACGMs to acquire him. The landing point has been that the return would likely be one of:

1. Slafkovsky (maybe minor pieces going one way or the other, but MTL fans are wholly against this one)
2. Reinbacher and a smaller asset
3. ‘24 MTL 1st + a Mesar/Beck tier (at the draft if a Verbeek ‘my guy’ is available like Lindstrom/Levshunov)
