Carter would clear waivers, he doesn't have positive value with his current contract.

He has 1 year left and would prob retire at the end of the year. Kings arent giving up much and he's well respected there.

I feel like teams like NSH, DET etc...would only be in on Jake if he resigns and I might be wrong but I get the feeling he wants to test FA over the summer not sign a long term contract now...

Yeah that's a no from NSH. And we don't want him anyway. Don't need wingers and he would only be our 2nd line LW

No desire to have Jeff Carter clutter up the roster unless he brings Pittsburgh's 2024 second with him. And that's only if both Adrian Kempe and Viktor Arvidsson are on the LTIR list until the playoffs (God forbid).

His contract is up in 4 months. They aren't giving up 2nd to get rid of him.

NSH declines. I wouldn't be horribly opposed if NSH was to land him, as a top 6 the looks like Forsberg -ROR - Nyquist / Gunetzel - Novak - Evangalista sounds really good, but that doesn't make sense for NSH at the cost of any premium assets that NSH has, like Kemell.

I'd rather just wait for Tomasino or L'Heureux to take the next step and slot into that spot.

Good. Then both teams will be happy with the status quo.

I’m not doing Dorofeyev 1 for 1 with smith. A 3rd is where I stop. Take it or leave it

He wouldn’t clear waivers is the point, the Kings don’t have the cap space once Arvidsson, Anderson and Kempe return this month.
