I think it makes sense for both teams and for Kuz. You rid yourself of Kuznetsov, he gets a fresh start. While we already took Kuzmenko in hopes of a bounce back season next year to sell him for something at the deadline, This doesn't change that plan just which Kuz, increases the odds of a bounce back IMO, and we get a pick.

I'm guessing you are one of the few Rangers fans not concerned about signing Lindgren long-term?

I don’t see how the solution to replacing a top-four LD is to trade him for an overpaid 2nd-line RW with one year left on their contract.

Fair, but wit it being an off-season move you could easily bring back Gus and sign a UFA, no? Maybe bring Sklei back? Or make another move, flipping Kakko for a defenseman or something?

that's not exactly overpaid for a 2nd liner anymore

It’s not by any means a bargain though. The Rangers would be end up with less cap space than if they re-signed Lindgren, less term, and they’d just he replacing one hole in the lineup with another.

Are you saying Hanifin is a sign and trade or he gets traded and then resigns in Calgary in the offseason?

I created Hanifin to show the full trade and just guessed at what his new deal would be since it made me enter an AAV

to maximize his value. if he's not as good next season his trade value drops, if he is good again, his trade value doesn't increase much and his cost to re-sign skyrockets. I love the guy, but if it's unlikely he's a flame beyond 24-25, it's smarter to move him now

You should atleast ask for the Capitals Center to be the same salary as Kuzmenko.

Side note, No way Boston gives you that for Hanifin.

It all depends on cap cost and years. But, Lindy loves playing in NYC with his best buddy Fox, and if he is going to give any team a break in cost and years it will be the Rangers.
