Yeah, Crosby is an absolute amazing player no doubt about that but no way does just Crosby go for that type of package at the age of 36. 5 firsts and Bo Byram is crazy. The return would still be large but that’s crazy. I get you said unrealistic but I figured you mean him getting traded not the package he’d be traded for

Pens should definitely sell. But they won't get back all that. Crosby and Karlsson half retained should bring back plenty of picks and prospects.

Ya fair enough, it’s a little much but given there isn’t really a big piece coming the Pens way and they are taking cap back I ca,e up with that.

Ya I was trying to see what they would get on a full sell off but it’s not easy. After all that they don’t have much…probably a bottom 5 team. Lots of picks and cap though.

The Knights deal isn't bad, but I think they would also try for Reilly Smith in the same trade

I wouldn't mind grabbing Rust for a 3rd. But I doubt CHI does anything like that.

I haven't seen enough of Reilly Smith this year but he looks meh...and the cap hit is almost what Guentzal is. I tried to work him in but couldn't. What does Dubas get for Smith and would he retain? I retained on the bigger names and figured at 5M Smith had no takers.

I agree...I think retained they might get close...but I dunno I think some teams may offer even more...and come on bud...there is NO OVERPAY for a Crosby...and cups?

I tried to get him to Toronto as a friendly lil troll for all the Leaf fans...they have the guys but I don't think Sid would want to go there...I dunno.

Boston would want in and a Marchand/Crosby/Pasternak line is silly.

Ya the term is too long I think? Good player with value but maybe no demand considering the term? Maybe Detroit or Ottawa? Some team would take him in the off season that loses guys to UFA like Florida?

The draft lottery will probably play a role in what CHI does this summer too. If they win the lottery again, I could see them maybe starting to add to the roster, and 5 years isn't too bad. That would maybe cover the span of an ELC and a bridge deal and expire right when someone needs a new contract. But, I doubt that contract ages well, and he has a full No Move Clause.
