Yeah, Crosby is an absolute amazing player no doubt about that but no way does just Crosby go for that type of package at the age of 36. 5 firsts and Bo Byram is crazy. Pens should definitely sell. But they won't get back all that. Crosby and Karlsson half retained should bring back plenty of picks and prospects.

I haven't seen enough of Reilly Smith this year but he looks meh...and the cap hit is almost what Guentzal is. I tried to work him in but couldn't. What does Dubas get for Smith and would he retain? I retained on the bigger names and figured at 5M Smith had no takers.

The draft lottery will probably play a role in what CHI does this summer too. If they win the lottery again, I could see them maybe starting to add to the roster, and 5 years isn't too bad. That would maybe cover the span of an ELC and a bridge deal and expire right when someone needs a new contract. But, I doubt that contract ages well, and he has a full No Move Clause.
