Why so many people think thr Leafs will move Sammy

I'd love that EDM trade, which means EDM says no. I don't know why they'd move Foegele unless they're also getting another top-6 forward and moving someone into his spot. I'd love him on Columbus' 3rd line, and would be fine if he signed a 4x$3.5M-4M extension.

Jack might go for a 2nd or 3rd at this point. The team really doesn't matter, but he's producing again on the top line (10 points in 10 games).

Toronto doesn't entertain moving Sammy, and Peeke the player (regardless of retention) isn't worth a 4th to them in all likelihood. If we want to make room for Jiricek, the obvious answer is just waive Peeke and hope someone claims him. If not: one defenseman up from Cleveland, one down to Cleveland.

The only reason why I think they could move him is they have alot of similar players that follow that role on the team and he's not a "Critical" piece whereas they need more defensive help. Personally I been working on a 24-25 Blue Jacket team and I been eyeing a Foegele for the team as a 4x3.75 but I haven't published it due to how KJ/JG and the Russian crew fits together for a 3LW.

As for the trade I think something is there but I would love to have EDM come in and tear us apart for it.

Yeah I'd love to hear some Edmonton viewpoints on it. As for 24-25 Columbus, I like Foegele at 4x3.75 if he'd sign, and I view the Russian line as the pure 2nd-line going forward. They just look too dangerous together to break up. That means we've got something like this if everyone is healthy and sign Foegele:

Chinakhov - Voronkov - Marchenko
Jenner - Silly - Foegele
Texier - Kuraly - Danforth
Olivier

...which means we have spots for two of JG, PL, and KJ (and potentially Nylander???), all of whom should be in the top-6. And that's ignoring kids like Brindley and Dumais that may force their way onto the team too. Really feels like there could be a major move at some point in the offseason...
