Really want to get one guy, but desperate to move the other guy? ya, sounds like vancouver is chalk full of leverage there.

we're not desperate to move lindholm and boston was always willing to pay a lot to get him.

if you think we're doing that deal under duress you're delusional. this isn't a must for us it's a want.

Boston on the other hand HAS to do something. Florida is taking the conference by the throat right now.

I think is more Vegas who start the ball rolling. From the moment Vegas and Washington have made the Mantha trade, the market have start to be active.

Floride have upgrade, now Avalanche, Oiler and Ranger have done move to upgrade also. So who's next ? I'm curious to see if there will be still player available for deadline at the time limits on the 8 mars.

oh, they were? what is your relation to don sweeney?

boston is second in the NHL in points. I don't think they really need to do anything, and center is probably second on their list.

Lindholm has sucked this year. vancouver paid up, and it didn't work. you're lying to yourself if you think they aren't taking a haircut if they move him, which they kinda have to do if they want Guentzel.

Bruins in reality don't need to do anything....this is their transition year. They planned to get younger and use their 29 million cap next year to sign Swayman, JDB and others.

Then why were they heavily invested in Lindholm before the trade?

They were invested in a trade and sign - aka adding a player to their roster for years to come. They aren't looking at rentals with high price tags as they have cap space to spend next year. This was meant to be a transition year - not a rebuild....transition. So it would make sense that they make a trade and sign for a player they can use moving forward. The reports were Lindholm was unwilling to make a commitment so the Bruins bowed out.
