Steps in the right direction

Created by: AWhiteOreo
Team: 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 6, 2024
Published: Mar. 6, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
TRADES:
WSH: Dvorak fits in with the caps at a good cap hit, the buyout for Kuznetsov really isn't that bad and the Habs can easily afford it. Getting a pick 8-12 to eat some cap space and trade a pending UFA ain't bad business

DET: Wings have too many d-men, habs have too many wingers. Swapping cap hits for serviceable players works out for everyone.

PHI: Flyers could really use an experienced goalie and Allen brings some good experience to help take pressure off of Ersson. Ellis is done hockey and frees up some offseason cap space for the Flyers.

Yeah Wings aren't doing that. Not taking on more cap for a worse player.

Can’t see why the Habs would do that either. Last thing we need is another LD.

Caps won't do that. It's less expensive for them to just buyout Kuzy than spend a 1st and take on Dvo. + They don't need the cap space since Backy is on LTIR

Exactly. The whole thing is kinda weird because Washington isn't doing that too.

Ellis is on LTIR and always will be, PHI is one of the deepest pockets in the league, they dont need to move Ellis or pay to do it.

Allen is not worth a 3rd and 4th. Maybe a 4th, but hes been pretty bad the past few years and his cap hit for a backup and 2 yrs left is not good. I'd be suprised if PHI offers a 4th. Theres free cap dumps and maybe Martin Jones, Sandstrom has played well last yr and so far this year, theres a ton better options in UFA in off season and I just cant see it....

Unless Detroit trades for a D they can't afford to lose Maatta.
