Description

I really think Toffoli should be in montreals plans. He obviously loved it here and might potentially take a bit of a smaller deal to come back. He is a great vet that has playoffs and cup exp and that also has a lot too offer on the ice still. With the cap increasing i dont think his cap hit will be too bad when it comes too his last few years and I think his exp will always be valuable and i doubt he falls under a 15 goal guy even when hes 35. His timeline would also fit with this years pick. HOPEFULLY in 5 years we will have a good top forward in one of (catton demidov lindstrom eiserman etc)

As for second line I think this is someone we would acquire with the WPG pick and maybe a potential pick we would get for trading savard. Obviously it would be one of those guys but i could see Kent moving those two picks a D men for a young high potential forward.

Lmk if any of these moves make sense to you or not at also what the price would be on some of these players or if u think they would be available at all.

Kent Johnson has a torn labrum. Recovery is 4-6 months, and then rebuilding strength takes even longer. He will not be moved any time soon.

Even if Kent wasn't injured, he's still not being moved. And unless MTL is sending a top prospect or their own unprotected 1st this year back, Davidson or the next GM wouldn't return Kent's calls. I'll keep saying it, Montreal and Columbus aren't good trading partners, we need the same things: high-end talent/top prospects, we've got plenty of middle-6 guys and prospects at similar positions.
