If it was Bunting for Fabbri and a 2nd, I would say you have an argument, Berggren makes it a way too lobsided trade proposal

Edit: Boqvist is nowhere near that valuable

I like your optimism but I don't think all of those rookies will make the team next year. I'm not a scout but I think Cossa could use at least one more year in Grand Rapids. IF somehow he makes the team next year I'd think a team would trade for Husso so the Wings could free up some cap space. I don't like giving the 1st round pick in the Boqvist trade.

Seems like a lot going for Bunting, even though you're dumping Fabbri on them, so maybe not.

You could probably get Boqvist for a third. He's hurt too often and there are holes in his game.

AZ traded a second for McBain and he has shown he plays heavy and can play up and down the lineup. If he was worth a second to them then, he hasn't done anything to make him worth less to them today. Certainly won't move him for yet another third when they have 30-something picks in the top three rounds imo the next three drafts.

Bunting really isn't worth that. We could find someone else through free agency or just re-sign Perron to fill that role until a prospect, likely Mazur for playstyle, fills that spot.
Boqvist isn't worth close to that. That pick right now is looking like a lottery pick. He is maybe worth taking a chance on to be a powerplay QB but really Seider can fill that as well if we don't re-sign Gostisbehere. If we did go after Boqvist, we likely need to keep Maatta to partner with him since he is not good in his own end, Maatta can at least cover for him. That would then block Edvinsson from getting a spot since more the likely Chiarot doesn't go anywhere. Also, Chiarot would not be a good partner for Boqvist, that pairing would get exposed so badly. We should be looking for a partner for Edvinsson more than a project on the right side. Tanev, Roy or Demelo would be really good options for that.
No reason for Arizona to do that trade, I think they like McBain and they paid more than that for him. Another pick does nothing for them.
Don't see Cossa being ready for backup duties yet, wouldn't be awful but I think another year in the AHL would be good for him. I would love for him to prove me wrong though.
Also have a hard time seeing that many rookies on the team, would really love it if they proved they could play though.

Was about to say, CBJ accept, but not sure who you are bidding against. Boqvist is probably a mid-rounder in value.

Then again, Peeke just got a 3rd from BOS of all teams, so not sure what anything means anymore.

I blame that Boston trade on them being a little bit panicked about losing a regular D in Forbort to end the year on deadline day and probably just quickly said a 3rd to get the deal done.
Especially when you see what Dumba went for
