Celebrini being rushed reeks of either breaking him before he develops or becoming Lafreinere where he is slowly developing into a good player. Celebrini is good and nice but he isn't Bedard. If you get him protect him don't just throw him to wild or imo you are going to regret that. If you did I'd suggest if he makes the team give him a protected role not #1 C or you are going to regret it.

Maybe focus on having a winning record before making it over for the league

Celebrini is thriving as a very young NCAA player…but I don’t think he is ready to be playoff-caliber 1C. He is not as dominant 5v5 as a guy like Fantilli (Celebrini is better on PP). Also Hockey East is a very top-heavy division…and they play on bigger ice surface (whereas Big10 is mostly NHL rinks).

I would send him back to BU for one more season.

AHL could be good. Would also allow him to slide a year.

Great thing about BU is that he can spend half the week bulking up as games are, for most part, only on weekends. And while they are not under contract, all development that occurs off the ice is allowed (on ice development activities are prohibited). And BU is not like some random backwater…it’s a pretty intense environment, play plenty of big games, lots of media attention.

I imagine he could play in NHL next year…but not sure it would be worth sticking him in 82-game schedule, smaller rink, as barely 18-year old.

Sure, but why even bother making a trade if the return player would also be a healthy scratch?

I would actually want a pick back in that Buffalo deal. His actual Salary is higher than his Cap his by quite a bit.

@batman While being in a minority of maybe only one (me), Dvorak with only one year remaining on his salary could be a decent gamble.
Up to becoming a Canadian he was averaging a half a pt per game and winning over 55% of his face offs.
He would be grossly over paid as a fourth line center but if you add at least a third to Christian, Buffalo could do this.

Yeah no knowing Hughes he's adding nothing alongside Dvorak. You would have to pay us a 3rd and its deal. Hughes sets his price and doesn't sell lower. It takes patience. Look at Allen Monahan Chiarot.
