You saw it here first. Jarmo Kekalainen will be the next GM of the Edmonton Oilers.

    TO NOTE

I realize that Pesce will probably be signing for more than 4.5, Looking at the AGMs that have been posted and the comments he will most likely get around 6M maybe more

    my error

With that error the Oilers can just go use that money to go get another RS Dman for 4.5M lol

Yeah this AGM is VERY flawed all around tbh as the author of this AGM I will admit that was just throughing around some weird ideas

    My thoughts:
    - Ceci gone, replacement TBD.
    - Desharnais resigned.
    - Kulak gone, replaced with Broberg
    - Soup bought out
    - Kane traded
    - Sounds like we're trying to resign Carrick (for league minimum I hope) and Henrique
    - I'm assuming Foegele will price himself out of Edmonton. This also depends on how he performs in the playoffs.
    - Our bottom 6 has not been good under Knob IMO, I really hope this is just a player issue and not a coaching issue. Hopefully a revamped bottom 6 is on the to do list for JJ and company.
    - We need more speed in the lineup, both for forwards and our defense. Lack of speed is really evident against faster teams, ie against Colorado on Saturday.

Going into next season based on the above:

    Nuge-McDavid-Hyman
    McLeod-Drai-X
    Holloway-Henrique-X
    X-Carrick-X
    Ryan

    Ekholm-Bouchard
    Nurse-X
    Broberg-Desharnais

    Skinner
    X

Team won’t retain 1.1 mill in real money for just a 5th

TBL retained almost 2.9M on Henrique for a 4th

PHI retained 2.4M on Hanifin for a 5th

I think a 4th is sufficient and maybe a overpay

TBL retained 1.4 for a quarter of a season. 350k in real money

Philly retained 1.2 for a quarter of a season. 300k in real money.

You are asking to a team to pay 1.2 million dollars in real money for a 5th

Why are you treating Ceci and Lavoie like cap dumps and Blackwood like he has some actual value? That's illogical.

Holloway and Kapanen don't deserve those contracts.

It's much different when it's a deadline deal than at the start of the season. If this trade happened at the deadline then yeah, a 5th/6th would make sense
