Absolutely not, and you'd have to add to it. Smith only has a year left.

If Kane was younger it'd be a different story.

I don't understand the theory of trading 2 seasons of Evander Kane, who plays in the top 6, for one season of Reilly Smith to play #3 LW when the difference is a measly $125,000 against the cap. It's true that Kane has underperformed somewhat while with the Oilers, but he has almost as many points in 56 playoff games as he has this season and he's a particular nemesis to the Kings.

Canes decline. Bad fit for Kulak, better, cheaper alternatives. Also, a 2nd is WAY too much. A 3rd if you're lucky, more likely a 4th for a 3rd pairing D man like that
