Edmonton pursued Gudas, he didn't want to play there, end of discussion with his trade protection.

Ahhh okay! I didn't know he'd vetoed a trade to Edmonton, my bad

He didn't veto a trade, he chose not to sign with Edmonton as a FA, because he doesn't want to play in Canada, and he has the trade protection to maintain that.

Six years for 32 year old Toffolli isn't wise.

I know it isn't, but it's totally a Ken Holland move

hopefully with accrued cap space the carry over will be les than 3.5 and more around 3M

I would only do one of toffoli or debrusk. and use the other for a 3rd line C that can give some flexibility with mcloed to move up and down then to solidify the bottom 6.

Maybe I'm a little optimistic, but I hope we see Holloway used as 3C if McLeod is moved around. He was used as a center in college and was good in the faceoff circle.

I don't Disagree with hoping that. Makes it even more important to bring in another C incase he falters and is not ready for that role you can shift him to the wing still and have flexibility with mcloed still.
