I’d rather have Geekie than Vatrano. So you can imagine how i feel about the value of those trades. Underselling Geekie and that is twice what Vatrano is worth.

Vatrano is going to come back down the earth eventually. There's a reason GMs wouldn't pay a premium for him this year.

Also I think it would be a big miss to not even get a '24 draft pick for Ullmark.

I love Geekie -- and you can see this going back three seasons now. PIT accepts

That Vatrano deal is an utter dog. If they would have been willing to give up Lysell and a first, the caliber of player would have been significantly higher (my guess is you could get Chychrun for that).. At this point, I want to see Lysell get a shot. He’s shown enough at Providence to warrant it

The concept of trading Geekie seems foolish and Coyle isn’t losing his job after this year.

My guess is NJ would basically just offer Seamus Casey straight up for Ullmark. I doubt they would offer him and a second. I personally think Boston may prefer the 2025 first to select the prospect that fits their profile they prefer even though I think Casey is likely to be a better player

I’m very high on Casey, so this one is tough since I’d ideally like to see him involved in more of a splash like Saros or in a package for Swayman (who Boston shouldn’t move under any circumstance), but it’s also hard to not bite the bullet and move him here given the fresh wound that has been NJ goaltending lol

Geekie is a depth player. He’s not a top 6 player. I’d much rather have those 3 down the middle with Frankie. Someone has to replace Marchand soon and he’s a perfect fit for that job.

No he isn’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️. They are both middle 6 forwards and Geekie is better value and younger.

Vatrano is not a top 6 wing he’s a 3rd line triggerman he’s not worth a first or Lysell alone nevermind both of them

It’s probably Casey or a 2nd for Ullmark instead of both

I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM. I'd also offer you your 2024 second back for Morgan Geekie.

My guess is Boston would NOT offer Lysell for Vatrano. I’m also of the opinion that they have cap room to pay for better options in free agency if they choose.
