Sens and most teams don't have the cap for Garland, without sending equal cap back.

A line of

Joseph - Pinto/Greig - Garland

would be pretty good though

I was doing it assuming Norris gets moved for a bit salary relief and either a RHD or a starting goalie for Ottawa. If you guys want to improve on Solokov to like Ostpachuk (or add like a mid round pick) we could take Forsberg in return.

I think there's a world where the Sens taking Garland makes some sense, but a 2nd is an overpay, and there are other ways for Ottawa to get a middle 6 winger that would be better asset management. I'd do the picks that Ottawa got for Tarasenko + Sokolov but probably not any more

Canucks aren't using Silovs as a sweetener in a cap dump

It is going to take an overpay for Garland as he is key player in our middle six and for the most part being the creator might work with the Tarasenko picks as we need more picks after how many we've lost.

I think they would Silovs isn't going to replace Demko and rather have a veteran back up ( I'd like DeSmith to come back but think he's going to get same or more money then he is currently making) Silovs has potential but isn't a guarantee. Getting someone that management likes (Chmelevski) and could sign Kunin if he takes a payout. I'm also not against keeping Mikheyev as I do think he's going to be a lot better next year a full year from his surgery.

if he takes an overpay to acquire, then Ottawa would simply look elsewhere. he's a good player but if he's worth more to the Canucks than his trade value, then I'm happy that they'll be happy with him for another year

Yeah I guess overpay is probably slight misnomer as us Van fans for last 2 years were being told would have to pay get move Garland. A 2nd would be Ideal but getting more picks and moving out of his contract maybe what we need to do in the offseason if we want to make room for some big adds/re-signings

yeah he’s easily worth some decent positive value. something in that sorta range of like a 3rd+ or the equivalent seems likely, but good for Vancouver if they can either get more for him, or make it worth to keep him
