Description

Give or take some salary changes both higher and lower and it is possible to resign the main set of players. The biggest question... Should we?
Personally I don't think so, yes I like Lyubushkin and Edmundson and feel they improved our defence this year for a minimal cost, but the reality is our defence is still weak. With growth and liljegren and another year of McCabe a Reilly,McCabe,liljegren could be good as 3 of 4 for a top 4 but that needs McCabe and liljegren to become more consistent. If that happens, Lyubushkin as much as I like him he is like Benoit, and not a top 4 dman.

I can't lie that defensive depth looks like its one bad day away from holding on to thoughts and prayers, can't imagine they roll with that all year next season.

Lol, well this year has yet to play out lol! You never know. While I do agree with the deadline moves and can see how they can help us. Regardless, even if we win to send out the exact same lineup because we won would that be the best option to run in back?

Personally no, but this was more a fun exercise for the sake of it.

I do agree. I can see where it can work well this year and be great but there is still a big hole in top 2 right pair and with Edmundson as top 4 to rely upon for a full season. It upgraded us cheaply this year and can do great but even still this is not a competent dman set up year after year.

No argument. Depending on the remaining production, playoffs, and term/salary demands I can see resigning Bertuzzi or Domi or both. They have both improved and look much better now.

But the D core, 100% no matter the result this year should change with different signing. This was more for the sake of it to see the look next year with salary cap.

I was merely going with some reports I read on potential resigning and that those insiders thought. To be honest, I think both are overpays and would rather not resign either if it was those salaries.
