Honestly, I think the Devils may just run with Allen and a relatively cheap 1B next year rather than spend cap room and assets like this on a goalie with so much term and cost.

You have the Ducks miles below the cap floor. The Ducks need to spend Gibson's money on a goalie, either to Gibson or to someone else. For the crappy return of a 2nd and a 3rd Anaheim might as well not make that trade.

Also need to spend good money on at least one more defenseman, again just to hit the cap floor. Warren isn't going to be in the NHL that is for sure. I'd drop 7 or 8M on Montour personally if he'd sign that contract.

Nah, Fitz is going to have to do SOMETHING. I agree that Allen has calm down the crease, but if ANYTHING happens (and its jersey, of course G crap happens-Its the Broduer curse). The prices that were out there will come back down to earth. Marky and Ullmark will be options without moving Holtz/Mercer. Saros is another question. I think he liked Marky because of the extra year to allow younger Gs to develop. For instance Marky/Allen combo all through the year with Daws/Schmid in Utica. At TDL see what Allen's interest is and *** he's playing. Ride out the season and one of the Utica Gs comes in the following season or Allen is our rock! But Fitz will be skewered if there is not some kind of add

I don't see that happening. I think the Devils are going to make a big goalie trade, whether it's Markstrom, Ullmark, etc. Goaltending cost the devils a playoff spot this year, Fitzgerald knows that if he doesn't make a big move in net and the Devils miss the playoffs again, he's going to get fired.

The reason why you have Noah Warren (who isn't ready) in there is because you didn't re-sign Gus Lindstrom, who has been pretty good in a third-pairing role for us this season. You also forgot to re-sign Jackson LaCombe, who is a certainty.

A more likely lineup is Zegras -- Carlsson -- Terry, Vatrano -- McTavish -- Killorn, Gauthier (if he plays) -- Lundestrom -- Strome unless the Ducks get a free-agent upgrade at #3C.

I think we can agree, Gibson is not a choice. I don't know what the price on Markstrom will be, but I wouldn't pay the crazy price others are thinking it would cost.

One of the Bruins beat writers says Ullmark coukd possibly be had for a 2nd and a 3rd. If true, Markey can't be much different LU is 30 so 5yrs younger (JM 35), 1 yr left to FA (JM 2), $5M (JM $6M). I don't think I'm interested in the price of Saros
