If Ullmark is a 2nd and 3rd, Markstrom can't be a 1st + in the summer!

Markstrom played again last night. Another 0.880, negative GSAx performance. Not looking like a 6 million dollar man lately

There's no way Boston will accept only a 2nd + a 3rd for Ullmark.

Last year, he won the Vezina and has had a respectable season for Boston this year.

If anything, either their asking price is met, they re-sign him or they let him walk.

The lowball offers NJ fans wish they could get players for isn't what they're worth.

Get used to it with that guy. He's a NJ homer not worth wasting any time on responding to. According to him every Devil is worth his weight in gold and all the players they want are worth next to nothing in comparision.

Who would you like to see Calgary draft at #11 overall ?

Assuming this Markstrom trade went down as depicted.

It won't. Hope this helps.

Jacob Markstrom, if traded at all, will also be traded AFTER his 2.5 million dollar signing bonus payment is due. Which will be after the draft

You can't even tell me who New Jersey should draft at #11 overall.

Your only answer is BPA without naming anybody specific.

I agree
I'm just telling you what one of the beat writers wrote 10 days agoor so. So work up from there. If we offered our '25 1st, one could assume we're better than that in 24 draft. If this 24 pick is a 8-10 pick there's no way he uses it on Markstrom. Also, Holtz is having about the same year as 1st OA pick Lafreneire in NY, with a ton less opportunity. Rags not moving him for anything close to that. I coukd se it being Marky for the extra yr but not at those prices. Go get Ullmark as soon as you can, and stop Dickin around

They should draft someone not named Jacob Markstrom, hope this helps.

I am not a draft scout. I have not watched nearly enough tape on these prospects to pick who I'd prefer NJD to take.

Doesn't change the fact that teams don't trade high 1sts for 35 year old goalies making 6 mill a year. NJD already took their 2024 1st off the table towards the deadline for Markstrom.

Tig Iginla. But if Calgary has 3 1sts with 2 of them just outside the top 10 Conroy would try packaging one of them with Vancouver's late 1st and possibly more to move up high enough to select Carter Yakemchuk or Caydem Lindstrom.

In the Athletic
Bruins delth chart 24-25
Fluto Shinzawa
Mar 14

Here’s where it will become dramatic. The succession plan is clear: Swayman as the clear-cut ace, Brandon Bussi as his understudy. Bussi has yet to make an NHL appearance. In theory, a Swayman-Bussi tandem should remain an organizational strength.
That would mean the Bruins would have to find an interested party in Ullmark and negotiate his partial no-trade protection. Ullmark will be entering the final season of his four-year, $20 million contract. He turns 31 on July 31.

By trading Ullmark, the Bruins would clear the deck for a Swayman-Bussi duo. They would be delighted with getting back into the first round of the 2024 draft. They traded their pick in last year’s Tyler Bertuzzi deal. But a first-rounder may be too high a return for Ullmark. Perhaps they could score a second- or third-round selection, both of which they do not currently own."

If this is the case, Fitz calls Sweeney and deals for LU, then Conroy to say should not listened to Donny Maloney!

NJ absolutely does not need and cannot afford Hanafin. They've got Hamilton who is far better than Hanafin, Luke Hughes will be the no1 on the left side, and they'll have Nemec for years to come on the right. They might even have Casey ready to jump in on the right side next year who is going to be a high end top 4 guy at minimum. I also think thats an overpay for Markstrom, 2025 first would be fine but Markstrom isn't the best goalie for this team and he's too old to pay a top 10 pick for, NJ just won't get the longterm value they need from markstrom to justify that price. I'd rather add to a '24 first for a longterm solution than get a rental retirement age goalie.

1. Believing that Hamilton is far better than Hanifin while Hamilton has spent most of the season on LTIR is the biggest hot take I've seen in a long time !

2. Your own front office disagrees with you completely about Markstrom not being the best goalie for the Devils.

3. How is the #11 overall pick a Top 10 pick ?

Can you even count to 10 ??

4. How is Markstrom a rental when he has two full years left on his contract ?

Do you even know what a rental even is ??

5. Next time when you chitpost, don't make it so obvious.

You might involve yourself in a more intelligent discussion where your brain doesn't turn into mush.

If you think Hughes and Nemec are ready to contend deep in the playoffs next year, you're nuts! This D will be great in 2-3 yrs. Thats about 4-5 yrs into these great contract we have, then what? Why get a G if the D is still gonna blow (while they are learning), If you can get a first pair D man (6'3 216 lbs) that can exit the zone instead of a passing (which we cannot do right now), skate as good as Hughes (and better than Hamilton) for nothing but cash, you do it. No team wins a cup with a mediocre D. Yes the rookies will be there but not in short time. Hanifin stays a lot healthier than DH too!

Generally paired with Pietrangelo on top pairing.
Skated 21:33 - 18:33 ES - 0:42 PP#2 - 2:18 Primary PK
Pending UFA
Fantastic skater. Quick and fast up and down the ice.
2-way / Transitional 'D' who adds to the Golden Knights already deep defence core.
Top pairing NHL - due for a significant raise in off-season
Statistics updated March 5th - 2024
'2-way D' with a transitional element. Provides better than secondary offense. Outlets pucks and joins as an extra layer. Elite skater. Has the legs to lead the rush on his own. Gaps up to take away time and space in the defensive zone.
Through his first 61GP - 11G-24A - 123 shots on goal - 46hits - 89 shot blocks - has scored 8 goals and 18 assists at even strength.

As for G i'm in on Ullmark for picks
If you want a Defensive D figure out who to move for Petey in Pitt
